winemaker's notes:

Take a tour of France's three most famous wine regions: Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhone. Each wine is chosen to display the unique characteristics of the region it represents: bold Bordeaux from Château Les Graves de Barrau, silky Bouchard Burgundy from the birthplace of Pinot Noir and a spicy Grenache and Syrah blend from Louis Bernard in the Cotes-du-Rhone. Passport not required.

Jean-Charles Boisset

Discussing his family's wines included in our Tour de France Gift Pack:

Featured Wines:
  • Château Les Graves de Barrau
The estate has been well-known for several centuries. This wine is medium-bodied with dark berry flavors, well-balanced tannins and a long, smooth finish.
  • Bouchard Bourgogne Pinot Noir
This wine exemplifies Bouchard's mission: "Always search for perfection in quality, authenticity in style and prestige in the name." A plump wine with a lot of fruit and a delicate note of wood, harmonious and well balanced.
  • Louis Bernard Côtes-du-Rhône
Ample and fruity with a gentle hint of oak. This wine is an excellent match for barbeque.
Please note that due to the popularity of this product, we reserve the right to substitute like wines and vintages.

  Cheap tasting - 6/1/2010
I would not buy this wine again
Very cheap wine, tasted cheap. Do not give this as a gift to someone you like, they will be insulted.

Reds with no headache - 4/10/2010
I would buy this wine again
I was given this gift pack as a thank-you. I wasn't real sure about it, since my experience with red wines in the past have been quite painful. They typically give me horrible headaches. I generally steer clear of them. So far I've had the Bordeaux and the Cotes Du Rhone and I LOVE THEM! I will definitely buy these again, and again, and again.

I would buy this wine again
I am not a wine drinker, due to an extreme allergy, but I always order French wines for my guests. All of my guests loved all of the wines, and there was 'something' for all!

Kosher wine
Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.
Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
Green wine
Green Wines
Wines that use sustainable, organic and/or biodynamic practices in the vineyard and/or winemaking process. We rely on a number of U.S. and International certifications to qualify wines "green."
Collectible wine
Collectible
These wines will improve from additional bottle age, when properly stored, and may show the greatest potential to increase in value.
Great Wine Gifts
Great Wine Gifts
These selected wines make impressionable gifts for wine enthusiasts and oenophiles alike.
Boutique Wines
Boutique Wines
These wines are made in limited quantities and are typically produced from single vineyard sources or made by small, artisanal wineries. While the winery may produce larger quantities, we limit wines with this designation to a 1,000 case production.
